CULTIVARS DEVELOPED BY ADRIAN SLACK

BARRY MEYERS-RICE • Davis, CA • USA
JAN SCHLAUER • Frankfurt/Main • Germany

Keywords: cultivars: Drosera 'Marston Dragon', Sarracenia 'Lynda Butt' — recollections: Adrian Slack.

In this issue dedicated to Adrian Slack, we thought it would be useful to note those cultivars which Slack had a direct role in naming. The data are presented in two lists. The first list includes the names and publication locations for Slack's many established cultivars. After the cultivar name, the title of the relevant book and page reference appear (IP=Insect-Eating Plants and How to Grow Them, CP=Carnivorous Plants). Finally, the ancestry of the cultivar is given (if known). The second list includes plants that are missing photographic standards. The cultivar names in this second list are acceptable but not registered yet. Photographs of them and a permission to reproduce these for the purposes of the ICPS would be appreciated! The photographs of Drosera 'Marston Dragon' (Figure 1), and Sarracenia 'Lynda Butt' (Figure 2) are the first to be published, and are to be used as the cultivar standards.
